blue ribbon tagApril is National Child Abuse Prevention Month and centers around the country are determined to spend this 30 day period educating the public. For instance the Central Alabama Child Advocacy Center is distributing all kinds of literature to the public, doing PSA's on the radio and having a silent auction to raise funds for the prevention of child abuse. Their web site is http://www.alabamacacs.org/ if you are in that state and would like to know more.

To raise awareness and have society recognize the burden child abuse places on us all the American Humane Association has joined thousands of protective organizations across the country in observance of April's National Child Abuse Prevention Month. They say that even "the smallest gestures from a concerned person can make an enormous difference in a child." They want people to understand the vital role they play in preventing abuse and protecting children. Their suggestions are to reach out and mentor a parent or child you know is in need.
