If you are a parent or caregiver you most certainly have worried at one time or another about your child encountering a dangerous stranger or even someone they may know such as a relative or family friend that could threaten their security and safety. It is always best to arm your child with as much knowledge as possible so that they will be prepared in how to respond should they ever feel in danger.
I have come across a wonderful website that has excellent rules, guidelines and actions you can teach your child. At http://www.kidpower.org/school-age.html you will find a place that will help you show your children how to take charge of their surroundings, be and act aware, get help in public places, stop unwanted touching or teasing and protect themselves from teasing and name calling at school among many other things.
There are numerous different workshops that address each need or concern you and your child may have. You really must check it out. |
