Everyone is familiar with child abuse stories on the subject of both child abuse and neglect.
Such child abuse stories run rampant in the news and media. Everyday, there are new stories of children who have been abused or neglected. Some child abuse stories end with fatalities that occur to child abuse victims. Yet, may people have become desensitized, accustomed, or are ignorant towards child abuse stories. Perhaps, this is because few people see child abuse pictures other than the authorities themselves. Typically, a picture cannot lie. Types of child abuse include sexual abuse, neglect, and emotional abuse.
How can you support child abuse victims? By contacting organizations, such as Childhelp. Childhelp has recently released the movie For the Love of a Child which was the most watched movie on Lifetime the year of its release. Some portions were very realistic depictions of how child abuse occurs.
You may either want to volunteer one-on-one with the children or you may donate you money to Childhelp's cause. Ninety-cents out of every dollar goes towards the children. You may never be able to end child abuse, but you may be able to help the children who have suffered.
