Holding a rally in the heart of the Big Apple is a sure fire way to garner a lot of attention and that is exactly what the Nixzmary Brown Soldiers did to call attention to child abuse and neglect. This was their first child abuse and neglect rally which brought together a small group of people who remembered those kids lost to abuse. The Nixzmary Brown Soldiers were created after the group leader lost her young daughter to abuse and murder by an outside assailant. The tragedy took place in a Brooklyn home in 2006 and since the group has been fighting hard to pass legislation called the Nixzmary Brown Law. This law is asking for a mandatory minimum sentence for those who murder and molest children.
If it were up to me, the minimum sentence would be 60 years without the chance of parole. Child abuse stories are enough to get anybody’s blood boiling so I hope that the Nixzmary Brown Law passes legislation. Does anyone know how the law currently looks at child abuse and neglect for those that end up killing kids?
