Pope Benedict has concluded his Australian talks and apologies for the widespread child abuse and neglect seen from Catholic priests throughout the world. Thousands came to hear what he had to say in Sydney. According to RTE News (Australian source) during the child abuse and neglect speech Pope said, “These misdeeds, which constitute so grave a betrayal of trust, deserve unequivocal condemnation. Those responsible for these evils must be brought to justice (rte.ie).” I don’t think there is any better way to say it. Those priests that misused their power to force children into sexual abuse will burn in hell and we can only hope that they will all be caught while on earth and rot in prison.

There were people such as those from a victim support group called Broken Rites that did not believe the apology to be sufficient. Their main complaint was that the Pope did not suggest any ways of stopping future child abuse and neglect in the church. All that I know is that any future claims of abuse within the church need to be investigated immediately.
